Evaluation of Head Nurses' Planning as Component Administrative Tasks Performance at Teaching and Nonteaching Hospitals in Kirkuk City: A Comparative study
Journal ID : AMJ-12-08-2022-10409; Author : Dr. Hewa Sattar Salih, Dr. Hussein M. Abdulfatah, Fakher Abobaker Ahmed Gli, Dr. Bestoon M. Ahmed, Dr.Yousif Abdulmuhsin Salih,
Abstract : Nursing administration is entirely related to the implementation of nursing services, such as the function of planning, organizing, motivating and controlling. Factors affecting nurses' work motivation are appreciation, career development opportunities, job responsibilities, independence, how the organization is run and characteristics of nurses. This study aims at evaluating head nurses' planning as component of administrative tasks performance and comparing between these head nurses relative to such performance at teaching and non-teaching hospitals in Kirkuk city. A descriptive comparative design was carried out to evaluate head nurses’ planning as administrative task performance and to compare between them relative to their hospitals. A non-probability “purposive sample” of (46) head nurses was selected from (Kirkuk General Hospital and Azadi Teaching Hospital) in Kirkuk city. Data was collected during January 10th to March 30th 2019, using the study instrument and interview technique. Data are analyzed through the application of descriptive and inferential statistic. The results depict that head nurses’ planning as administrative task performance and head nurses' planning in those hospitals were low. Additionally, there is no significant differences at (P > 0.05) between the two hospitals, except between the staff satisfaction and head nurses' development plan. We suggest nursing management training courses in the participated hospitals. Further research can be carried out on larger sample, wide-range characteristics and different settings.

The Impact of Gender on Nursing Fatigue in Jordan: A Qualitative Study.
Journal ID : AMJ-12-08-2022-10408; Author : Mahmoud Al-Masaeed, Anthony O’Brien, Muhammad Alqudah, Michelle Guilhermino, Irniza Rasdi,
Abstract : Fatigue is prevalent and leads to increase risk of nurses’ill health, nurses calling in sick, a high turnover, and increased medical errors. The findings in this study demonstrate the gender difference in nursing fatigue cope strategies to support and inform organisational policy development, education, and communication practice addressing the nursing fatigue coping strategies in Jordan. The study examined how the nurses’ gender in Jordan impacted their fatigue prevalence and adopted coping strategies. A qualitative descriptive design was used to explore nurses’ experience of fatigue through a purposive sample of 27 nurses from across the hospital wards. Qualitative data collection was done using semi-structured interviews administered. The findings were analysed thematically through the grounded theory model, where open coding was used then, followed by an axial coding process to establish relationships between themes and sub-themes. The key themes were (i) nurses’ fatigue coping strategies, (ii) gender and nursing fatigue in Jordan, and (iii) fatigue prevalence among Jordanian nurses. Additionally, the findings suggested two coping strategies (a) nurse individual coping strategies and (b) hospital management based coping strategies. In summary, fatigue is highly prevalent among Jordanian nurses. It can have detrimental effects for both male and female nurses, and inter-shift fatigue recovery differs among both genders. Women were found to experience more fatigue in the workplace. Culture and religious beliefs were perceived to be the key contributing factors to gender fatigue levels variances. Individual strategies such as physical exercise, meditation, and relaxation regimes were found to help in managing nurses' fatigue. Hospital management strategies include working shifts with a maximum of eight working hours, weekly working hours to an average of 40 hours, and increased inter-shift rest periods.

CLINICAL MANIFESTATION OF CUTANEOUS METASTASIS IN THE CASE OF PENILE SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA: A RARE CASE
Journal ID : AMJ-11-08-2022-10407; Author : Nur Putri Irmaya Sari, Khairuddin Djawad, Siswanto Wahab, Anis Irawan Anwar, Airin R. Nurdin, Idrianti Idrus, Faridha S. Ilyas,
Abstract : Penile squamous cell carcinoma is a rare malignancy seen more frequently in developing countries. Metastasis occurs in a predictable manner, with superficial lymph node involvement occurring first, followed by deep lymph node involvement, and then spreading to distant organs. The brain, lungs, liver, and bones are typical sites of distant metastases. In this report, we present the case of a 60-year-old male patient with penile carcinoma cell squamous with metastasis to the skin. Initially, the patient complained of dark, painful, and itchy nodules in the right inguinal 3 months ago. The patient had a history of total penectomy after the previous diagnosis of penile squamous cell carcinoma with positive lymphovascular invasion. In inspection, hyperpigmented nodules and ulcers were seen in the right inguinal region and hyperpigmented nodules in the abdominal region. Histopathological dan immunohistochemistry examination revealed squamous cell carcinoma appearance with inguinal lymph nodes metastasis and abundance of cytokeratin. Finally, the patient was diagnosed with skin metastasis of penile squamous cell carcinoma and had been treated coventionally.

Proneness to Anxiety and Depression among Middle School Students: Does Parental and Peer Attachment Matter?
Journal ID : AMJ-11-08-2022-10405; Author : Marwa Jabbar Saiwan, Hasan A. Huusein,
Abstract : Adolescence is a significant developmental age in which changes in biological, emotional, cognitive, and social domains occur. A descriptive correlational design was used to guide this study which aims to identify the direction and the strength of relationships between or among variables. The study included a probability simple random sample of 492 students who were selected from six schools (three schools for boys and three schools for girls) out of 56 schools that are located in Al-Nassiriyah City, southern Iraq. Data were collected through a self-report instrument that include sociodemographic characteristics, Child Anxiety and Depression Scales, Emotion Expression Scale, and the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment include. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 26 using the descriptive and inferential statistical measures. The study results display all students are not diagnosed positive for panic anxiety. One student only is diagnosed positive for depression. The expressed reluctance and expressed emotions positively predicted students’ proneness to experience anxiety respectively. On the other hand, family’s socioeconomic status and relationship with father negatively predicted students’ proneness to experience anxiety respectively. The expressed emotion and poor awareness could positively predict more students’ proneness to experience depression respectively. On the other hand, relationship with mother and relationship with peer could inversely predict more students’ proneness to experience depression respectively. The researchers recommend that there is a need for the psychiatric nurses to establish health education activities that rest on delineating the expressed reluctance with the goal of minimizing students’ proneness to experience anxiety.

Journal ID : AMJ-11-08-2022-10403; Author : Rafid Ryyis Arraq, Angham G. Hadi,
Abstract : New tri organotin complexes have been effectively produced in the presence of sodium hydroxide by condensation processes of cephalexin (ligand) and tri-organotin (IV) chloride of (phenyl, butyl and methyl). The product were distinguished by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (1H, 13C, 119Sn), and elemental analysis. Based on the spectrum measurements, the complexes produced were given a trigonal bipyramidal shape. The antioxidant ability of Sn(IV) complexes was investigated using two different methods, radical - scavenging activities (DPPH) and the CUPRAC assays. Due to the obvious metal moiety, organotin (IV) complexes had stronger antioxidants than ligands, whereas complex of (Me3SnL) had more significant antioxidant activity than most other complexes.

Journal ID : AMJ-10-08-2022-10393; Author : Samer Farooq Naoom, Raad Faraj Hanshe, Firas Mahmood Rashid,
Abstract : Even with advent of modern diagnostic tools, misdiagnosis of appendicitis has remained more or less constant. Percentage of misdiagnosis is higher among women than men and children than adults. We aimed to validate importance of AIR score in diagnosing acute appendicitis and comparing it with Alvarado score. This case series study was done in emergency and surgical department of Al- Kindy Teaching Hospital- Baghdad-Iraq during a period extended from second of January /2016 to 30/July/2017 were convenient sample of patients attended emergency unit suffering from acute abdominal pain with suspicion of acute appendicitis. Appendicitis inflammatory score (AIR) (at score>4) in comparison with Alvarado score (at score >4) shows that former has good statistical points of discrimination for diagnosing patient with acute appendicitis, with a sensitivity of 91%, and outclass Alvarado score, with a sensitivity of 83%. AIR versus Alvarado score former outperform result obtaining by later one in children below 12 year old with a sensitivity and specificity of 88% and 61%s respectively for AIR score (score >4), and a sensitivity and specificity of 41% and 61% respectively for Alvarado score (score >4). White cell count can be normal or low as a result of lymphopenia or sepsis. C - reactive protein (CRP) concentrate is a powerful indicator of appendicitis particularly complicated cases. CRP demonstrates a sensitivity of 85% and specificity of 69%. Rebound tenderness was demonstrated in 63% individuals in present study. This study validates AIR score in diagnosing acute appendicitis and exceeds Alvarado score.
