Abstract : Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease, mainly affecting the skin, nails, scalp, mucous membranes and joints. Psoriatic arthritis occurs between the distal phalanges of the fingers as well as the toes, joints of the knees, elbows, shoulders, spine and temporomandibular joint. To investigate the prevalence of TMJ disorders in patients with psoriasis. The sample consisted of 300 patients with psoriasis who attended the Dermatology and Venereal Diseases Hospital at Damascus University, who were randomly selected, and underwent a clinical examination of the temporomandibular joint and masseter muscles according to the RDC\TMJ axis 1. 68 patients (22%) had TMJ disorders, the majority of patients with Ia(48.5%) and disc displacement with IIa (25%).For symptoms related to temporomandibular joint disorders, there was a click when opening or closing by (11.7%) of the sample, and (12.3%) of the sample answered that they poke or bite tightly when sleeping, and (17%) of the sample feel pain when waking up. TMJ disorders in patients with psoriasis are associated with the duration and severity of the injury and their incidence increases with generalized plaque pattern and when psoriatic arthritis is present.
