Abstract :
Lemmel syndrome is a rare and unusual cause of obstructive jaundice caused by a periampullary duodenal diverticulum compressing on common bile duct causing obstructive features. We present a case of 82 year old male with upper abdominal pain and features of obstructive jaundice, Imaging (CECT:Contrast enhanced computed tomography) revealed a periampullary duodenal diverticulum causing compression of common bile duct, thus a diagnosis of Lemmel Syndrome was made. The patient underwent ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) and endoscopic sphincterotomy was done.
