Abstract : COVID-19 is a worldwide epidemic with high fatality. Several COVID vaccines have been created, the first of which were produced by Sinopharm and Pfizer. To compare interferon-gamma levels before and after vaccination for each of the two vaccines Pfizer and Sinopharm. This a cross sectional study in which 119 patients were assessed; 53 patients were vaccinated with Pfizer/BioNTech, 18 with Sinopharm, and 48 unvaccinated subjects. After 3 months of the 1st vaccine dose, the mean level of IFN-γ in vaccinated and unvaccinated subjects were 42.49 ± 26.00, 34.53 ± 21.41 respectively, while after 3 months of the 2nd dose, the mean level of IFN-γ in vaccinated and unvaccinated subjects were 38.09 ± 26.50, 28.13 ± 17.30 respectively. No significant difference in interferon-gamma levels was detected between Sinopharm and Pfizer groups. The Vaccinated groups showed a significant increase in the levels of IFN- γ after the second dose of vaccines and both vaccines showed the same efficacy as there is no significant difference in interferon-gamma levels was detected between both groups.
